Re appeal/reconsideration was created by Korky
On 19th April got DLA letter back with DM saying I could walk more than 50 yards, but slowly which I know I can't. I am not at risk of falling what if my ankle gives way which it does without warning, don't that count as falling when I know I do?

Am due to go to see my consultant again tomorrow and be put on the waiting list for a subtalar joint fusion which will mean I will not be able to bend/move my right ankle ever again. Surely this would count as not being able to walk properly and be able to get at least MRM. :(

Also said with difficulty can manage to do things even though I put on the form am in severe pain if I do the following things. They still said I can do them but no mention of the severe pain from them when I do. Like get in and out of bed/ have a bath myself and get in and out myself, get dried and dressed/undressed myself. Plus all the other thing on the form. But I know probably only 2 days a week I can but the others am in too much pain to do it myself that is why my mum does it but DM only gave me LRC.

I thought I should get at least MRC also my mum sleeps downstairs and I phone the house phone on my mobile so my mum can come upstairs as I also need help at night to change position/get comfy in bed, and to put the covers back on my bed and to get to the toilet at least 3 times a night for 10 - 15 minutes each time.

Sorry about the waffle just needed to let off steam. :(

What is the differenc between an appeal and reconsideration? :( .

Hi Korky,

Take a look at the DLA appeals guides and you'll see that the issue of appeal vs reconsideration is covered in detail in there.

Goood luck,

Steve

Have tried to find it but I can't find it anywhere, where abouts is it exactly?

Does anyone think I have got any chance of getting HRM and HRC? Anyone with any comments on this are welcome. Also has anyone had a different outcome when they have had a reconsideration? Any replies would be gratefully received.

Thank you, for your time love 2 everyone from Korky. :)

Korky

Follow the "Help for Claimants" link in the orange section on the left of the this page.

Follow the "Disability Living Allowance Appeals" link on the new page.

Both the following documents cover the subject.

The Best Possible Support For Clients With DLA and AA Appeals

Appealing Against A Disability Living Allowance Decision

Hope this helps

Is it me or did you not ask this question the other week ? based on what I am sure you posted before and this I think IMO of course just middle care 2 year award

my view based on all I have read on DLA here DWP site awards others have had and a decent knowledge of the health problems posted and the op and its chance of cutting pain long term

all that said what I and others post might make you feel better but the top of the list affect must be false hope as we are not experts or DM

as the odds of picking the winning lottery numbers are 1 million to one I have a better chance of getting that right so 3 6 22 31 38 44

Hi Dave

Thanks for the numbers Dave will try them out. So I will just have to wait and see but that is the worst part. :(
