Phoning JCP adviser is easier said than done.
Each time I ring I have to ask for my Jobcentre, they transfer you and phone just keeps ringing out, returning you you to main switchboard and so the process begins again.

Had my WFI yesterday. Got off to a bad start when my name wasn’t on the list but I told to wait and I would be seen by an advisor.
The young lady was very nice and went through the explanations of the groups claimants are placed in etc then explained 'prognosis' ie time when they expect people might be improved and maybe expected to return to some type of work. Apparently my prognosis is 24 months, but she reminded me my money will stop after 12 months because I receive contribution-based ESA and that I will get a form asking if I want to claim for Non-contribution based ESA. At this point she asked about a partner and I told her I was married, apparently my husband isn’t on the system.
She then explained the Work programme. When I mentioned I would be eligible for my pension next year she seemed surprised and didn’t mention the Work Programme again.
As my husband is due to retire before me she offered some advice about where to go for information on pensions etc.
Ending the interview she said she’d be in touch in about six months time.
So after much anxiety and worry beforehand it was all quite painless really.

So I would like to thank B&W once again for all the help, you do such a great job :cheer:

Hello again.
Time flies.....I have another question if that's ok....because I receive contribution-based ESA my benefit payments will stop in couple of months. I will receive my government pension in September.
I expect to hear from my advisor soon but I just wondered what happens between the time my benefits cease and receiving my pension?

Many thanks

Hi Jm,

You could request, fill in and return an ESA 3 Financial Assessment Form from/to The DWP.

You would then be financially assessed to see whether you can pass the means test that entitles you to payment of Income Related (IR) ESA.

24 hour work rule for ESA(IR)

Asset rule for ESA(IR)

This may cover you in the interim period between your CB ESA ending and your State Pension kicking in.

If you are not entitled to IR ESA, payments of CB ESA will cease, and you will continue to receive NI Credits only.

If someone is in receipt of NI Credits only, they cannot be compelled to take part in WFI's or WRA.
