Thank you. I have a total of 50 A4 sides, this includes many earlier old years but it does have useful detail on my physical problems where there is no detail in recent years. This old stuff consultants at hospitals refer to not being able to use public transport and pain on walking which is not in recent medical history (recent medical history refers to two worded condition in GPs basic notes and that's it). Do you think 50 sides , which covers several disabling conditions, is a ridiculous amount of evidence to send in?

Hi Cruella,

It is certainly not the most information I have heard of a claimant sending! If this is what you believe you need to support your claim then this is what you send. DWP cannot consider what you have not sent in!

Thank you, I wrote before how I was concerned that an xray/scan years ago showed nothing wrong and consultants referred to this in letters. However they accepted my symptoms and later I got a letter from a consultant explaining that the xray/scans do not always show damage in patients. I am thinking of attaching this letter saying that the xray/scan are not 100 percent accurate to the letters that say no damage because these letters saying no damage seen on xray/scan I want to use cos they have other details in them that is useful. What do you think, put a copy of the letter saying xray/scan not 100 percent accurate in front of each letter?

I think you need to be cautious in doing this less you undermine the whole report. It's a decision only you can make.

I realise that and agree, but if I do not do the above I will have only recent doctors notes referring to my condition as in two word diagnosis and I do not know if this would be sufficient evidence. If I use these recent doctors notes that do not give any detail, it won't show any attempts sorting out my condition with hospitals cos I have not been able to attend hospitals and doctors for ten years.( I have only phoned my GP). I assume it would not be a good idea to send in old doctors notes where the notes talk about referrals to hospitals cos they will wonder why I have not included the corresponding hospital letters. If I only send in the recentish doctors notes as my evidence, I wonder and am concerned they may write to my GP for more information. If they did contact my GP for more info, she may not even mention the letter where the consultant explains the xray/tests are not 100 percent accurate. So I suppose it all boils down to whether my recent doctors notes that only have two word description of my condition here and there (along with two word description as part of a statement of fact) suffices as evidence for this particular condition. How can I tell? Do people get awards successfully for PIP based on just recent GP notes and no hospital letters?
