PIP Decisions were taking 7-8 weeks at the end of last year but there was some sign of improvement, I suspect that Christmas has temporarily negated that, at last in part, my guess is 5-6 weeks.

Thank you. But help again please! I have received a second appointment today despite the fact that the ATOS customer service last week told me that I do not have to have a face to face and that a paper based assessment had been done. Yesterday I phoned DWP and they said they had not received the paper based assessment (although ATOS had said last week it had been done and sent off to the DWP) so I phoned ATOS and they reiterated that the paper based assessment had been done but said it had not been sent off as it was waiting in the review process. Now today I have this appointment letter for a home visit on tuesday. I have tried contacting the lady I have mostly been dealing with at ATOS, she has been given an email by a colleague to phone me. I think this appointment has come out by mistake because subsequent to the first medical assessment appointment letter I received a letter saying a home visit appointment would be sent shortly but then over the phone ATOS told me I would not have to have a face to face and a paper based assessment had been done. I am very concerned if this second appointment that is seemingly a mistake gets cancelled then my claim/case will automatically be closed. Please what do you think

You can't really do anything further until you hear back from this lady who seems to know what is going on. In the absence of them getting back to you should assume that the new appointment will be carried out.

I would write to the DWP about what has happened and contact your MP, send them a copy of your letter as well.

Hi, think all sorted. ATOS customer service lady looked into it, then I got a phone call from health assessor who apologised that the second appointment had been sent out. She said my paper based report had been submitted and this second appointment cancelled. She was very nice about it, so fingers crossed all works out the DWP end. She gave me her name. Do you think this all sounds ok now? I mean, I could phone the DWP to check???

If I were in your position, I think I would want to check with DWP!
