around about mid June I received my award for the second time for pip.
They had kept my mobility the same as last time ( enhanced) but reduced my living one down to standard.
What the decision maker wrote was that I could understand and communicate with the assessor even though he accepts I was wearing a hearing aid in my right ear at the same time.
The other was that my grip was sufficient to cut up foods normally as I was able to drive a car which requires significant grip.
These were the two descriptors he cut back on even though I had been awarded these points at the last assessment.
I sent in a mandatory reconsideration to ask them to look at this again mentioning that my wife also agreed that I had to have a few of the questions repeated and that the room was nice and quiet, also that she has to cut up the majority of food for me.

A week after I sent in the M R, I received a letter to attend a new hearing test of which I'm now wearing two hearing aids, and decided to hold back this information on the conclusion of the MR .
The beginning of this week I received a reply stating that the decision stays as is.

Firstly, the descriptor of communicating states verbal information unaided... I was wearing an aid, is this not contradictory?
You do not drive a motor vehicle gripping the gearstick all the time, these days gears take no effort to change!! Even though this was awarded last time.
I will now submit my hearing report I obtained and ask for a change of circumstances.
What's your view on this?

Did you score any points for this activity?

Forgive me if this sounds obvious, did you explain what difficulties you have with communication without your hearing aid?

I see no value holding back the new hearing test results, this is about getting the right result as quickly as possible.

Driving is always going to be an issue, you need to explain why you can hold a steering wheel for what will be prolonged periods of time and yet are unable to cut up your own food, I'm afraid I think it likely that you will be asked questions about this if you have to go on to appeal.

Remember, activities must be completed "reliably" and on the "majority of days" not to score points.

1, I scored points on all these the first time but not the second time.
2, No I did not explain I have difficulties without hearing aid as I assumed wearing one counted as an aid.
3, I have it on record with the DWP IIB as Carpel Tunnel Syndrome, both hands.
4,when I send in my hearing report, do you think I should mention that I asked for MR?

I'm afraid using an aid does not mean that you need to use it, on all of the activities you must explain what problems you have that necessitate the use of an aid, or indeed why you cannot use an aid.

I know it may seem obvious that if you use a hearing aid, that you need to, but you might have hearing that is OK but is improved by the use one.

I'm afraid it is very unlikely that the PIP department will have any knowledge of your CTS unless you explained about it on the form, there are really no shortcuts to explain your problems.

Yes, mention that the report is in connection to your MR.
