How long til I hear? was created by Onenonblonde
Apologies if this gets asked all the time (I'm new to this and find the site hard to navigate), but I submitted my ESA 50 form on 6th January and haven't yet had any reply.
This was a reassessment, as I've been on ESA since 2014. I've never had to attend a face to face assessment.
I live in Nottingham. Anyone know what the standard waiting times are tending to be?
Thanks.

Hi Onb,

Welcome to Benefits and Work :)

Maybe they have made a paper based assessment and returned your file to The DWP!

ESA decisions can take 2-4 weeks after the face to face assessment, if one is required.

You could give ESA a ring for an update, and whilst on the phone you could also request a copy of The ESA85/ESA85A Medical Report which would have been compiled by The Assessor at your face to face or as the result of a paper based assessment and sent to The DWP ESA DM who makes the final decision :

THE ESA PHONE NUMBER DWP : 0345 608 8545 (Open 8AM-6PM. Mon-Fri.)

Please let us know how things progress !! :)

Hi Onb,

The requesting of the ESA85 would only be relevant if a face to face had taken place first.

If they inform you that Maximus have made a paper based assessment and returned your file to DWP to make the final decision, you would request the ESA85A medical report.

If you get no joy from DWP ESA, you could try contacting : The Centre for Health and Disability Assessments (CHDA) (aka HAAS) (Maximus) who took over the ESA WCA Contract from ATOS on 02/03/15.

I'm not far from Nottingham. My ESA50 arrived on 1st March at the address I sent it to.

I rang Maximus and they told me they have contacted my GP...don't know if this is good or bad.

Maximus number you can get online. 0800 288 8777.

You need your NI number.

I have no idea if I've done the right thing but I live alone, and have been hiding in bed since thr ESA50 arrived at the end of Feb. I have been sick, and am not sleeping....... hope this helps?
