By the time we got to the actual questions I felt it was a bit rushed, she was nice enough and was here almost 3 hours, she had a laptop and typed constantly. She made me do some musco skeletal tests, some of which I refused.
I'm just not sure how it went to be honest,
Can they film the assessments, I just have this feeling it was filmed - not that that makes any difference to me but be interested to know.
I will let you know the outcome but they have said 4-6 weeks .

It would be illegal for them to film you during an assessment, a serious breach of confidentiality which could easily lead to dismissal.

Ok thanks Gordon. Now she has gone I realise I forgot to say something quite relevant - the use of incontinence pads. She focused on the bowel aspect of toileting but never mentioned the bladder, in addition I understand that just by the use of an incntinence pad I could get a couple of points - should I email capita to explain this point?

Did you include it in your PIP2? As long as you did then I don't think you need to do any more, it's likely that the report has already been written and submitted to the DWP already.

You could write to the DWP, for the attention of the Decision Maker, but again, if it was in your PIP2 yo should not need to, but if you feel it is important to your claim then drop them a line.

Sending Documents to the DWP or Maximus, ATOS or Capita

Thanks Gordon. I feel quite neurotic after that face to face. As I say she was at my home for 3 hours and 2 cups of tea later, she left. She spent almost 2 hours going through irrelevant things - wanting to know all about the surgeries I had had in the 80s /90s - I've had 30 ops so there was a lot to cover, I asked her if I was talking about unnecessary things to let me know but she said no it's fine, she needs to have a full picture. I just have no incling of how it went, I thought the amount of points awarded were decided purely by the health professional so even if I have mentioned things on the form, if the weren't covered in the face to face, then maybe they won't be considered ? on the form as well I said I could walk 50m as somedays I can but most days I can't, she asked me if I could walk to a certain point in the garden ( only about 15 metres) and I said yes but then she asked about repeatedly etc, and I said it depended on how the pain was - so again I have no idea what she thought, I tried to ask her at the end how the point system woeked and she said she didn't get involved with that as she didn't want it to influence her . At the moment I think I've completely blown it as I didn't concentrate n the important things like how this devastating bowel injury affects me on a daily basis.
If I wanted a copy of the report, how long do I have to wait and from whom do I request it.
Thank you

I'm afraid I long ago gave up trying to predict the outcome of an assessment based on how the claimant thought it went. :)

You should be able to order the report now, give the PIP office that is handling your claim a call.

Sorry I have another question. The main descriptor that applies to me is incontinence. I have had a stoma bag for 30 years but I now have 3 abdominal fistulae which require a separate bag, enterocutaneous fistula are notoriously difficult and I require help to change the fistula bags as they are flat to the skin. Anyway in the assessment as I have said most of the time was taken talking about my medical background. I gathered from the PIP related questions however that she was considering the application of the fistula bag as coming under managing treatments, she asked who prescribed the bags ( hospital ) and how long each day I needed my husbands help ( at least 40 mins per day depending on the number of leaks ) . I'm worried if she is ONLY considering the fistula bag under managing treatments and not under managing incintinence then it is unlikely I will qualify. I need help to apply the fistula bag owing to the location and nature of fistula and if that was agreed then that should get me 6 points but if she hasn't considered it under this descriptor and only under the managing treatments description then I'm doomed. A fistula bag is essentially a stoma bag - she seems to have considered the fistula to be a wound. Am I overthinking? Could it have been considered in both sections ie managng treatments plus incontinence?
Sorry I know yu don't have crystal ball but I value your thoughts..
Thank you again,
