Hi can you tell me if you have an appeal guild for DLA for under 16. I've had a look around the the different guilds but can't seem to find ant info.

There are no difference in the appeal process whether the claimant is an adult or a child so you should refer to the DLA Appeal guide, as to your submission you need to show that the child meets the criteria for DLA for a child under 16, there are guides covering this based on physical and/or mental health issues.

I've started completing the pip2 form but I'm getting a little bit stressed with the time restriction. I'm incredibly slow at these thing now due to my illnesses. I have heard that I can ask for an extension on the date to return the form but was wondering if there where qualifying rules for the extension to be given. Also if the DWP gives an extension do they put it in writing. If they don't I think I'd be paranoid That they haven't marked it on my file.
Thanks

DWP usually give a 2 week extension, no questions asked. I don't believe that they put this in writing - but no member has come back and told us that it had not been honoured.

When I got my extension to my extension I was really really very worried about not having anything in writing, especially as the bod I spoke to was a bit vague. In the end I called the office currently dealing with my DLA claim and they triple checked the notes on my file and confirmed over the phone that they had indeed granted my extension and exactly how long. I might add that I have a lot of problems talking to people I don't know on the phone but the consequences of not calling and the stress it would cause was more than the stress of talking.... at least that is what I told myself
