ESA CLAIM turned DOWN

Reading through a few of the other posts, I notice that for PIP, medical evidence over 2 years old, is not accepted. Does this apply to ESA as well. I no longer see any consultants because they had gone as far as they could for the time being with my arthritis and Meniere's Disease, so all my evidence e.g. X Rays, letters to GP are more than 3/4 years old.
Thank you.
Evidence over two years old will carry less weight for ESA claims unless you can show it's applicability to your conditions as they are now, unfortunately, many claimants find themselves in this position having been parked by the NHS.
Have you spoken to your GP to see what support they would be willing to provide you with.

Thanks you we're aware of this and are trying to fix it.

Yes I have spoken to my GP. Unfortunately his letter is fairly basic. Just says that generalised arthritis impacts functionally and the Meniere's causes unpredictable falling. Just noticed that MRI scan of neck and upper spine and Consultants /report letter are dated May 2015, so that's helpful. Last X ray of hips was 2013 and GP says that there is no point in repeating them as treatment will not be affected and all x rays carry a risk!

I have now sent my MR. I sent a detailed letter setting out how I thought my condition/s met the descriptors and included a letter from my GP and one from a consultant seen last year but in view of the comments on B&W about new DM's just rubber stamping the original decision, I'm not holding my breath on a positive outcome. I am expecting to have to go to appeal.
I have copies of my MR, ESA 50, ESA 65, ESA 85, hospital notes and letters to GP, DVD's of scans and X rays, basic supporting letter from GP and Fit Notes from GP to cover the period since my assessment. Is there anything else that I will need for an appeal apart from the MR form and appeal form?
Apologies if this has been answered elsewhere.

You will get a copy of the appeal 'bundle' containing all paperwork relating to your claim. So you shouldn't need to supply copies of these things if they have already been submitted to DWP. When you get the bundle from the Tribunal Service you should look through to make sure there is nothing missing (let the TS know if anything is wrong).
If the MR decision is not favourable you will need to download and print a copy of the SSCS1 form (DWP no longer send these out). This will give you enough space to say, briefly, why you feel the decision is wrong. You send in your full submission after you have seen the bundle and include any new documentation.
Please make full use of our guides if you need to proceed to appeal.

I have downloaded the SSCS1 form in readiness. Nothing like being prepared!
I have been reading through the guides too as they contain lots of excellent info.
