The important thing is to show how and why you should score points.

Pulling apart the assessor's/ DM's report will not, in itself do this. I refer you back to Gordon's advice in the 2nd message of this topic.

Hi

I hope everyone at B&W is as well as they can be.

As explained in my earlier message, I attended an ESA assessment 21st July. I was turned down 27th July as I was awarded nil points.

Following your advice I contacted the DWP to make a claim for Job Seekers Allowance and went for my interview this morning 3rd August. The Personal Advisor said it will take about 2 weeks to process my claim. Dr gave me a Fit note for 6 weeks dated 29th July .I'd also sent in a Fit Note for 4 weeks dated 20th July. I understand that if I produce another Fit Note I can get 13 weeks exemption to look for work. Is the Fit Note dated 29th July I have acceptable or does it have to dated after the application is processed?

I am in the process of writing my letter asking for mandatory reconsideration. I have been using the member guides which I think are brilliant and will help me follow Gordon's advice not to criticise the HP.

We've not seen anybody have a problem with the date of the Fit Note, but strictly speaking if the Fit Note predates your claim for JSA they may reject the claim on the basis that you have to be Fit for Work to make a claim for JSA.

Hi Gordon
Thank you so much for your quick response. I shall speak to GP when my application is processed and ask for a Fit Note dated at that time.

Good Morning
Reading through a few of the other posts, I notice that for PIP, medical evidence over 2 years old, is not accepted. Does this apply to ESA as well. I no longer see any consultants because they had gone as far as they could for the time being with my arthritis and Meniere's Disease, so all my evidence e.g. X Rays, letters to GP are more than 3/4 years old.
Thank you.

Oops! Forgot to mention. I don't know if it's my computer or a fault on the B&W site, but some of the links to pages with ESA info appear to be broken..
