I found your guide very helpful thank you and it enabled me to re-think several of the answers I had previously drafted.

I was amazed to receive two text messages prompting me to return the form, especially as the cut off date is not until 25th August. But with the help of hubby who is my full time carer it is now completed and I opted to send by next day signed for delivery to ensure they can't claim non receipt.

Now the waiting game I guess to see if they will replace my lifetime high rate DLA award with PIP, I so hope so because my motibility car is our lifeline as we live two miles for the nearest village.

Thanks for your help, I will update the thread when I hear more.

Curiosity really, but just reading through your PIP timetable I see my postcode falls into the very first reassessment group of October 2013, yet I have only just been contacted in July of this year. Are they really that far behind getting their act together ?

They haven't been using postcodes since the middle of last year, claimants are being chosen at random.

Back rather sooner than I expected.

My PIP form went off last week after being asked to apply if I wanted my DLA and Mobility to be considered for PIP, both were high rate lifetime awards back in the late 80's soon after I was diagnosed with MS.

Today I received a letter from CAPITA (I live in Cambridgeshire) saying they have been passed my application "for consideration". I was a little surprised by this as I expected to hear initially from DWP and then it would be passed to one of the assessment agencies for the face to face appointment, or is this the normal process ?

Many thanks,

B x

Hi B,

The PIP forms go directly to the Assessment Provider, DWP don't see them until the assessor has made a recommendation. It is the same process for ESA.

Oh I see, thank you for clarification. It mentions up to sixteen weeks so the wheels turn slowly.
