Hi Jennie,

Thanks for the update.

The ESA guide has a section explaining what to expect at the assessment. Although it is being held in your home, it will not be significantly different from those conducted elsewhere.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Good Luck with the visit.
I had an assessor turn up on my doorstep on tuesday this week - apparently to do a home assessment which had been advised in a letter sent on 10 January - Id received no letter!! As it happens the letter arrived today - a bit late as assessor had been 48 hours earlier!
Anyway, I will recount what happened ...

Man arrived at door - no introduction just expected to be invited in!
We sent into dining room
He was with us for about 50 minutes
he had a list of my medical conditions - which was inaccurate and incomplete
he said he was going to ask me about each condition, medication I take and how it affects me.

First condition : Chronic Fatigue
How does this affect me? 'I can't remember because if you look at your list, no 4 is Huntingtons disease and that affects my memory'
'Im not asking you about that one - I need to discuss this one first'

This was just the beginning, and it only got worse. We didn't even discuss the other conditions and he also argued with me as his paper said I have huntingtons Chorea which I dont I have huntingtons disease with no chorea! but because his paper said it then he was right.

I should have asked for recording facility and would have done had i known that the visit was going to happen. Probably wrote a load of rubbish, and likely ill end up having to appeal the unfair state!

had my home assessment on the 25th February. The letter said it would be a doctor but she was too young. Anyway, I should hear something (hopefully) in the next couple of weeks. Just in case anything was written down incorrectly by her I sneakily recorded the whole session on my phone as back up
