The cardiologist at the hospital must have written letters about all this to his GP, a letter for each admission and each outpatient appointment.

It is a good idea to ask consultants' secretaries for copies of all hospital letters, so that the letters will be automatically sent to you, and not just sent to the GP.

"He has now also been diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis after months of pain and suffering." If this was diagnosed by a rheumatologist or other hospital physician, she/he will have sent a letter to your GP.

Try phoning (but writing is better) the secretaries of the cardiologist and the doctor who diagnosed the rheumatoid arthritis. Ask the secretaries for copies of the letters sent to the GP. Say that you would like copies of all the letters from now onwards.

I understand that a GP practice must provide all his records which are held electronically (including recent ones waiting to be scanned into the GP computer) for £10. And paper records for £50.

But the GP practice may well give you free copies of the recent cardiology clinic letters.

I would enclose a printed list of all his drugs, which may be many, the sort of list generated every month or so by the GP, when your husband requests his drugs. You might write on a separate sheet what each drug is for.

All the above is about showing the DWP/ATOS/Capita that there is a thoroughly medical/disease/illness/condition basis responsible for the disabilities from which he suffers.

I've nothing to contribute about his actual disabilities, except- he may be asked if any health professional has told him to get in touch with the DVLA.
