Sorry to bother you again. I have left a message on my MP's answer phone. Am I contacting him because Maximus refused to provide information and because the nurse has ignored the advice of a mental health professional?
On page 25 of B&W mental health esa guide under Definitive Risk Categories, it says " a mental health professional assesses the claimant as highly vulnerable to relapse......... guidance suggests you should be eligible for the support group" Where do I find the DWP version of this- will quote this to my MP.
Finally, do hcps regularly ignore the advice of mental health professionals?

I suggested you contact your MP to see if they can put any pressure on Maximus to do a paper review of your claim, in part this may also include their refusing to tell you what additional medical evidence they require in order to do this.
It's in the WCA Handbook, there's a copy in the ESA section.
I's not necessarily a question of them ignoring advice from a health professional, mental or otherwise, although in this case they may be, most of the Health Professionals caring for you will report your problems in regard to diagnosis and treatment.
ESA is a functional assessment of your ability to perform a number of activities if your HP's have not addressed these issues in their reports then it forces the assessor to make assumptions as to your capabilities and these can be at odds..

Dear Gordon,
many thanks for your excellent advice. I contacted my MP and submitted a new specialist letter. Result: no face to face, Support group for 3 years.
One further question, if I may: do decisionmakers only consider substantial risk if none of the 15 point descriptors apply?

Congratulations on the award.
Yes, if none of the SG Descriptors apply (some of these are the same as the 15 point Descriptors), then they will go to Reg.35 (Substantial Risk).
