Thanks

Sorry. It applies to the PIP2 only, there are no extensions for the PIP1 being completed.

I wondered if the gathering of information by the DWP in the initial phone call (that the DLA recipient has to make) had replaced any actual paper PIP1 form?

I would assume that the DWP staff have always captured the PIP1 information onto the PIP computer system, except when the system is down.

Hi Gordon,

Thanks for that.

Do they send out the PIP1 for signing? I've now received my PIP2 (ergh!) but although I've done the PIP1 on the phone, not received it for signing. Interestingly (I thought), during PIP1 the telephone interview, after I'd been asked the mental health etc. questions, including one along the lines if I'd ever had depreesion such that I'd ever been hospitalised with it - which on the specimen form I've seen doesn't have the 'hospitalised' bit - and I'd replied that I had - I later asked about a possibility of a time extension to complete the form, being so anxious about the time limit, and the woman told me repeatedly that there was no extension allowable, and that if I did not meet the deadline, my claim would be disallowed. I was a bit more persistent, and finally she said I could phne a different number and ask, but that a time extension was very unlikely to be given. I thought this was really terrible - typical, but terrible.

Cheers.

Hi,

Hope this isn't a daft question - but on the PIP2 form, question 2 asks about 'your health condition or disability' - in trying to answer it, I've listed my ill-health diagnoses, and then came to thinking about the 'disability' part - as the ill-health gives rise, for me anyway, and I'm sure for many, to a variety of disabilities - eg mobility problems, and then a variety of difficulties I have with everyday life - so then should I list those separately also - e.g.. such a condition has given rise to such a disabilty (i.e. impairment or restriction) - or am I being confused or overthnking this?

Thanks

No the PIP1 is no longer sent out of the majority of claims.

You should be able to ask for an extension if it is required, I'm not aware of anybody being turned down so far.
