On PIP1 form – page 18/20. There is a question
Are you getting DLA, or have you ever been awarded DLA?
IF I TICK yes --- I want you to use ALL the medical evidence from my DLA claim.
Will they use just this (DLA) evidence or ALL evidence including new for PIP.
If requested, we can get your DLA file and make sure this medical evidence is used. Because of the laws about Data Protection and how long we're allowed to keep documents, old evidence may not be available. If evidence is still on your DLA file, we'll make sure that it is used. Is there any medical evidence from your DLA claim that you think might help us understand how your disability affects you? No Yes Go to page 19. We will not use any medical evidence from your DLA claim. Please use the following medical evidence (tick all that apply): This evidence could be a report from: a GP, hospital, school or other health or social care professional. If you've had a medical examination for DLA we could use the report from the examining medical practitioner (EMP). If an Employment and Support Allowance report was used to support your DLA claim we could use this report.
Seems very helpful of them. But I just want to be sure. Thank you.

Yes, you can ask for previous DLA evidence to be included in your file when it is sent to the assessor and they should look at this with your PIP2 and the evidence attached to it. However, this assumes that the DLA information is still available and that it is not too old or does not carry any weight with regard to PIP, the criteria for the two benefit are very different.

Our advice, whether you opt for the DLA evidence to be included or not, is to include any evidence that you want to have considered yourself with the PIP2, that way you will know that those assessing you will see it and you will be able to integrate the information into your answers on the form.

Now had the pip 1 phone call, and it wasn`t as bad as I expected. The lady was polite, I also got without any problem a 2 week extension. But I am annoyed that I will be filling this in over xmas.
Now got pip 2 form, quick couple of questions please.

I have several previous appeal decisions, statement of facts which clearly state the severity of my wife`s conditions, all decisions were unanimous. I am sending these with pip 2. I am hoping these will carry some weight. Have got some good letters from Dr and consultants so fingers crossed.
I also have the medical report form ESA85A. My wife was put straight into the support group without a medical ftf. I am also sending the esa85a.
My Question is can I insist (or politely request) that as well as all the old DLA evidence they should also use the esa report in assessing her for pip after all it was written by them not me.

It's entirely up to you and your wife what evidence you attached to the PIP2, whatever you do send should be considered as part of the assessment, however, for these reports to be of value you must relate them to the PIP activities, whilst DLA and ESA have areas of overlap with PIP, in almost all cases the criteria are still quite different and if you do not show why they are relevant to her claim.

Hello, after supplying medical evidence my Wife has been granted a Home assessment for (PIP).
Is the fact a person is granted a home visit an indication that their particular condition is more serious?

Also am I allowed to pass the so called medical professional new evidence of anything that has happened since we sent in the completed PIP2 form. I keep a Diary of my wife`s health and she has seen several Dr`s, Consultants, also an Occupational therapist has visited on 3 more occasions, this is ongoing.
The Occupational therapist has also written me a letter to confirm her visits and that treatment will continue for at least the coming months.

I imagine the occupational therapist`s letter would be ok, but i`m wondering whether to send all the extra info / evidence to Atos now prior to the Assessment. Will they use it? Or should I just hand it to the Assessor on the Day to be sure they have it? If for some reason we end up appealing I would obviously like the evidence to be as up to date as possible.

All advice appreciated
Thank you.
