I have been placed in support group :woohoo:
Thank you so much!!

Something doesn't make sense to me though, I am claiming as a couple so should get £151 a week, but she said I'll be getting £173 a week?? What is this extra £22, I am wondering if she made a mistake :S

Thank you again for all your help! Now onto pip

I just wanted to say how I always have to write things down too
I didn't do that at my assessment and when she asked 'how does your illness effect you' I couldn't even remember that!!
although I had written it all extensively on my PIP form

in the week leading up to my tribunal I spent hours and hours and hours making notes, just anything and everything that came to mind that effect how I live
a whole page just on what happens when I panic
another on all the stupid things that prevent or delay me getting out of the door
it breaks my heart when I read it all because I feel pathetic

but I found that the process meant that at the tribunal - although I had pages of notes with me - I actually remembered most of what I wanted to say

I think it is harder at the assessment - because they have a ton of things they have to ask and they are typing away all the time it seems

all you can do is be yourself and be honest with them
it is a horrible process, I found it demeaning and humiliating (the assessment, NOT the tribunal)
but you deserve support and this is the only way to get it
so stay strong
x

Thanks walker!
I know what you mean about feeling pathetic! I ended up calling the crisis team when I was filling in my form for esa, reliving everything that's happened to me just from answering questions on the form and explaining why I am the way I am.
I ended up getting sectioned :(

I am deffo going to write things down because I know I'll be freaking out and won't think straight! I just wish I knew that they would understand why my mental health effects me so badly day to day :(

I am so happy that you finally got the award you deserve! I bookmarked your thread on here and read through it all.
I've never actually been able to go out alone even though I have worked when feeling better, my partner always had to walk me 2 minutes to work and pick me up.
I can't go to unfamiliar places at all, I only go to my Dr in a taxi with my partner.
I just hope that not being able to think straight, getting dizzy and just generally not able to make a decision will get me the mobility, I know they say about cognitive, my partner has to deal with all that and me bless him!
I don't know why he puts up with me
Once again I'm happy you got what you deserve, I'm just sorry you had to go to appeal to get listened to and taken seriously!

I am going to stay strong and see my pip journey through to the end, what ever that end may be!

That's great news! Thanks for letting us know - and for your kind words about B+W :)

As to the amount you are being paid, please remind me whether you are on IR or contributory ESA?

I contacted the cmht to see if there was any update about getting my support worker, unfortunately the nurse I saw is off today so they said they will get her to call me Monday hopefully.

I explained about my pip medical and she asked if it was at the address I have and I said yes, she said please go, I know it's hard for you but the lady that does the assessment is really nice and fair, I asked if she was understanding about mh problems and she said yes she is fantastic, just be honest and I'll be fine.

That has really made me feel at ease knowing she is understanding and fair!
I just wish I was able to go out without freaking out :S
