ha :( Yes they wont offer anywhere else except Chertsy or Croydon they say all their centres are wheelchair friendly and are annoyed at the challenge.

I worry that the assessment was triggered by me not stating my Carer filled in the form because even though it is explained on the form my hands have poor grip or manual dexterity there was not a place on the form to say if you filled it in or that I needed ground floor assessment centre - as I know lifts are off limits in case of fire.

I know many are just office buildings. What do you do when faced with steps?

Do you contact the DWP and tell them that obviously I need a wheelchair friendly centre and you realize i did not fill in the form.

I never know if the DWP send on the extra info to Atos either. :(

Have you tried looking at the building using Google Streetview?

Are you going on your own to the assessment?

If confronted with stairs it may not mean that there is no disabled entrance, this may be elsewhere.

Certainly if you cannot get access to the building in your wheelchair then you should contact the DWP.

The DWP will have forwarded your PIP2 and everything attached to it to ATOS.

;) I have to have someone with me as I cannot self propell and Redhill does seem to have wheelchair access which is why I would rather wait.

I meant any extra info you sent on after the form was sent off like my Consultant's letter of support or the mistake on form letter, I worry they are not sent onto Atos.

The old DLA form use to have a section that allowed you to say about someone filling it in for you and needing a wheelchair friendly venue.

Thank you for taking the time to answer several people have told me it has helped them too! :cheer:

If you have sent additional information the DWP then I would recommend sending a copy to ATOS and taking a copy to the assessment and asking the assessor to read it before they start the assessment.

:pinch: I was going to send it to ATOS but in the letter it says only discuss your claim with the DWP and they like you to call.

I don't know what we would all do without the kindness of you all at benefits and work, we would be lost!

Many thanks to you both again

:( I am very unhappy and upset. I rang the DWP who said they didn't care that ATOS were forcing unreasonable locations and were not interested by my legs freezing up either.

To keep things short ATOS said they wouldn't offer a nearer location and would put me down as not bothering to turn up -their words.

The DWP said send us a letter stating why you could not attend. I explained that I have not attended medical appointments either due to my legs frozen in pain.

There answer was we have stopped your DLA reward one month early and my Carer's too!

I don't know if I can appeal this as I haven't had an assessment. I am so very low in spirits and strength I don't know if I can fight. It puts me in financial ruin and in peril because I will have no one to care for me. How can this be right?
