Hello, I'm reading the guide at the moment and am struggling to understand the Plan the route of a journey part my bf cannot go out on his own due to severe anxiety and he avoids public transport because of this and only travels by taxi or a lift. He also never goes out without me for the same reason and also because of the dizziness and fatigue that is caused by the fibromyalgia he suffers from. I am struggling to understand whether the discriptors for this activity mean just mental health problems or physical probs as well. It seems like you can only get 4pts for this but he can't go anywhere on his own familiar or unfamiliar routes. Please advise.

I think I am not going to be able to do this form without some help it's so tricky. He is in the Support group for ESA. We don't know the reasons he got in as the LT54? was torn off at the bottom.

The Going Out activity is split into three sub-activities. It does not deal with physical problems these are covered under the Moving Around activity.

Planning a route - this is primarily a cognitive or sensory (e.g. blindness) activity and is concerned with the claimants ability to plan a route between locations.

Undertaking a Journey - this is do with mental health issues such as agoraphobia and social anxiety and is concerned with you leaving the house to go somewhere, they will be interested in the things that stop you doing this. If you can leave the house but risk not getting to your destination then you will need to explain what stops you. You need to show that you would suffer "overwhelming psychological distress" to meet the criteria.

Following a route - the DWP regard this as a cognitive or sensory activity to do with navigating the route, to score for mental health issues you will need to show that your anxiety is so extreme that it would prevent you from actually navigating the route.

Hello,
It's likely that the extra pages won't fit in the envelope can I just write the address on a larger envelope and pay for Special delivery when the time comes?

It had to be back on 2nd jan and I don't think it will be ready by then and with two weeks of bank hols on Tuesdays. If we ring up for an extension do you have to give a reason? Both BF and myself have mental health problems and it's causing havoc here :-(

That should be no problem, just copy the address on the envelope.

We are going to ring for an extension today as we have 2nd Jan as the last return date and 3 days when post offices are closed. Do we have to give them a reason as to why we want an extension? I won't be able to get it back by then still waiting on GP and CPN.

Also have heard elsewhere that the pip system is having problems logging PIP2 forms and requests for extensions. Have you heard anything about this?

Yes you will need to give a reason.

I haven't heard of any issues with logging requests, there have been a couple of occasions recently when the computer system was down.
