Capita arranged a home visit for my husband for last week and when we phoned each morning to ask for another date because my husband had an appointment to see a consultant rheumatologist on that day, someone in Capita cancelled the appointment (we had simply said we would hang on to the appointment hoping they could find another date - we had been warned not to cancel as it's 2 strikes and you are out). Anyway, as the time drew nearer Capita said they couldn't offer my husband another date, and then they noticed that the home visit had actually been cancelled by one of their staff/someone other than us. Capita then tried to get us to go from Pwllheli to the Cardiff assessment centre and we said we couldn't because a 9 hour round trip journey was too far. Today when I called Capita they arranged an assessment in Wrexham in June saying it was the nearest to us - and when I asked for another time slot that day because of the distance from where we live the girl (from Capita's Birmingham call centre) threw an almighty strop and said the time had already been typed in and she would cancel my husband's appointment altogether and he would have his benefit stopped because it's 2 strikes and you are out. Well, it isn't just about money! We now don't know whether he has an appointment or not as she put the phone down on us. Does anyone know if Capita has an assessment centre in Wrexham in Wales please? Just hoping they aren't sending us to Wrexham in Ireland.
