PIP assessment was created by Fimara
I have my assessment next week but I am really scared. I do not have anyone who can come with me and I am afraid that if I can go on my own it will be taken that I can go anywhere. I am bipolar and do not feel comfortable in anybody's company so don't have friends who could accompany me. I have a husband who helps but can't take time off work and I don't really want him hearing all my problems. My main reason for claiming is how my mental health affects my life but have various physical things which cause pain and mobility problems also. Is it a lost cause if I go on my own?

Hi and Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explain where everything is

Welcome to Benefits and Work

It certainly will not be a lost cause if you attend the assessment on your own - but you will need to explain how you were able to do so if you hope to score points against the 'planning and following a route' or 'social interaction' descriptors.

Our PIP guide explains the criteria against which you are being assessed and also what to expect at the appointment.

PIP help for claimants

May I suggest that you bookmark/favourite this on your web browser now so that you can find it easily in future? This will allow you to return with further questions or comments about your PIP without having to start a new topic each time. We ask members to keep everything relating to the same claim in one topic as it helps us enormously - and I hope you will find it useful too :)

Strange one this morning. ESA payment went in bank 1 day early and under JSA. Panic stations!
Phoned and got told that when something was done with my file then it can interfere with regular payment so it was done under a same day payment which shows under the JSA system. He thought it might have been something to do with my DLA to PIP change.
Fair enough, I thought that was a reasonable explanation. I asked him when I would be reassessed and he said there was nothing in my file to say when.
I have been in ESA SG (after appeal) since 2012 and heard nothing since! Never ever had an assessment till my change from DLA to PIP.
I have been a member since 2012 and realise I have been very lucky so far. I'm sure that will change now with my recent claim.
I asked for a copy of my assessment report(PIP) from 27Jan but I was told it has not come through yet. If so then why would my details have been accessed resulting in the need for a same day payment of my ESA? I'm getting prepared for my appeal now! :(
Sorry for length but I thought this might be of interest to others.

PIP appeal lodged 20 April. Acknowleged by HM CTS 24 April. Now received letter from DWP saying they have received letter requesting appeal and they are not able to deal with it. Something gone wrong?

Do you have any more information on why the DWP have a problem with your appeal?

What does the letter say?

Letter says i have to send appeal form to tribunal but i DID! Sheer incompetence from someone at DWP i think. Phoned both DWP and HMCTS but not sure either of them can understand what has happened. Lady at tribunal service says they wiil contact DWP after end of month because they have not heard anything from them. I know why, someone has received appeal information from HMCTS and wrongly processed it thinking it has came from me and returned if to me with instruction to return it to courts instead of them.
