ESA Health Assesment. was created by Jens
Hi everybody.
I have been called in to have a medical assessment and I wanted to ask if they ever cancel the assessments as one of the letters from my health professional has said in a letter that I submitted in my ESA50 form that I'm not ready to go back to work under mental health work related issue?
Also how to record a medical assessment? What equipment would be acceptable if I wanted to record it myself?
Thank you.
Kind regards,
Jens

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

I'm not entirely sure about your question so I've answered both interpretations.
You cannot be found Fit for Work without attending a face to face assessment, however, you can be placed in either the WRAG or the Support Group without one.
Assessments can be cancelled on the day, Maximus overbook their assessors diaries and have no fall back if someone goes sick or takes short notice holiday.
You can ask Maximus to record your assessment, there's a template letter in the ESA section that you can use. Or you can record it yourself, you will need to ask for permission and you will need to be able to make two simultaneous recording direct to tape or CD,. You cannot make a digital recording.

Hi Gorden
Thank you for your reply.
Would I need to write and ask for permission or can I do this over the phone?
Thank you.
Kind regards,
Jens

You can do it by phone but I would follow up the request in writing.
