The assessment and criteria for ESA under UC is no different from what is now called "old" ESA, have a look at the ESA Claim guides, there's a section at the back that covers the WCA and the questions you are likely to be asked.

Yes this first appointment is just to prove that you are the claimant.

It was pretty much that Gordon, Though I did have some concerns that there is little definition from standard UC, I was fortunate I had an adviser i had seen before and liked , she had seen me when I was well, and could very clearly see from my palid gaunt appearance things were not right. Because it did still seem they that they wanted me to commit to certain job searching preparations , can I upload a CV for example, I got the impression had I have met with a less amiable interviewer, I could of been bullied into making commitments I would be unable to keep . It was also worrying noone had any Idea if there was any sort of equivalent of the esa50 or WCA.

If they treat you as Unfit for Work then you should receive a UC50 form, it's the same as the ESA50 with some cosmetic changes and there will likely be a face to face assessment, the criteria under UC is exactly the same as "old" ESA.
