DWP and Tribunal hearing was created by Anngy11
I scored 0 points on my PIP application and again on my Mandatory Appeal. I applied to go to Tribunal 7 weeks ago and was told to expect a big pack from DWP when they had looked at my tribunal appeal. Yesterday I received a short letter from the DWP saying they had all the information they now needed to make a decision (I had sent a doctor's letter and Counsellor's letter in with my tribunal appeal) and that they would let me know their decision. I am confused as I thought it was now closed with the DWP and was now in the hands of the Tribunal Court but have read that the DWP occasionally reconsider and make an award before a tribunal hearing? This may not happen but if it did, do I have to accept what they award me or can I still take it to the Tribunal Court? Thank you.

You need to contact the Tribunal Service, the DWP should have provided their submission by now and their letter suggest that they are not treating it as an appeal.

Hi Gordon, Thank you for your reply. I did ring the tribunal today and they said they couldn't understand why I've had a letter and as far as they were concerned it is going to court but the wait is 18 weeks. I will ring DWP on Monday then.

The TS should be chasing the DWP for their submission.
