PIP Medical - stairs to first floor flat

Trying to transfer from DLA to PIP. I have a PIP medical soon. I have looked at possible questions to try and prepare a bit. I live in a housing association flat on the first floor. I have to climb one flight of stairs to get to my flat, and the same down to get to my car. I have a raile but its not easy and adds to my exhaustion levels, pain etc. However, I have no alternative to get in and out of my home. I am on a council waiting list for a ground floor flat - but basically I know I am so far down the list that I will never get prioritised and I have no control over this.

My question is - I am concerned these living arrangements might be held against me in the medical/ The fact that I can get up and down these stairs - maybe twice a week to get out when I'm physically able to or simply have to regardless e.g. for PIP appointment- even though it causes me breathlessness, fatigue (and I have fallen down them twice in the last 18 months).

Thanks.

PIP does not consider the use of stairs although some assumptions may be made. All you can do is explain your problems with using them, how frequently you do and the accidents that you mention in your post.
