Paper based PIP assessment? was created by sjsmith84
Hi

My DLA is ending soon and I've made a new claim for PIP. I phoned today to ask for an update and was given the number for CAPITA. They told me that I don't require a face to face assessment and that a decision should be made by next week.

I just find this quite strange as the woman i spoke to at the PIP department said that very few people don't have to go for a face to face assessment.

I'm claiming for mental health reasons.

Best regards

Steve

Hi Steve,

It is less common to have an assessment entirely on paper but it does happen. The assessor clearly believes they have enough information to make a recommendation without a face2face.

I would expect you to get the decision letter in around 2-3 weeks now.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Thanks for your reply. I'm relieved that I don't need to go to an assessment but also worried that they may turn me down.

I will keep you updated.
