PIP - Denying home visit was created by chris_belfast
Hi

My client has been denied a home visit by PIP despite sending in a supporting letter from her GP stating that she has agoraphobia and that a visit to an assessment centre would be detrimental to her mental health. So now what? I done some googling and have saw that this is a trick used by Capita and DWP. 'Oh you say you can't leave the house but you did for this appointment?' So the only thing I can think of is to make a complaint and ask the reasons why the dr letter has been ignored? Any other advice appreciated

Thanks

Chris

Get their MP involved.

It may just be the words you have used in your post but the GP letter doesn't sound strong enough, it suggests that they could still attend albeit causing distress. GP letters really need to state categorically that the claimant cannot attend.
