Providing your total savings and assets are not above the £16,000 for a prolonged period then it should not be a problem, however, your post suggests that they will be over £6000 as a result of this cheque being paid in, if this is the case then you must contact the DWP as there will be deductions from your ESA, see

Asset and savings rule for ESA(IR)

Hi Gordon
I am trying to print out bank statements from when I paid the large cheque in pushing me over the £6000. I have several accounts and my printer is not printing all that clearly. But I need to get the info sent off. Do you think bank statements from each account just going back to the date my bank balances went over the £6000 will do? Or is there a rule whereby I have to go back a certain number of months do you know?

Although the advice seems to be confusing other members, I would not supply any bank statements to the DWP until asked to do so. Just write a letter explaining what happened, when and the amount that you are/were over the £6000, they will then tell you what supporting information they require.

Hi Gordon
Hi, I'm back. Happy New Year.

I have received my ESA reassessment form. I am currently in the support group and believe I read somewhere that it is important to point that out when I return the form, along with pointing out, as it is the case, that my difficulties remain the same???
I am already feeling overwhelmed at the thought of doing an ESA claim again, which bits on the forum should I look at please?
Plus, I assume it would be wise to send all the medical evidence I sent last time? Should I get letters from my medical people confirming I still have the same difficulties as they wrote about in their previous letters to the DWP ESA 18 months ago?
Also, the Capability for Work Qu form has to be back by 30th January - do I have to post it about a week before this date to allow time for it to go through the DWP/Centre for Health and Disability Assessment scanning and inner central mail systems?
Advice appreciated

Treat this as a new claim for ESA and complete the form in detail and send any relevant evidence that you can, even if it has been sent before.

Our ESA Claim guide covers the latest guidance from the DWP and explains how to complete the form.

The ESA50 is returned to Maximus so you don't need to worry about the time it might take in the DWP internal mail system.

Thank you
1) What about Maximus's internal mail system, Last time they told me they received it on the 21st even though I sent it next day delivery for the 19th. Do I need to post it 'next day delivery' a few days before the deadline just in case? (Or maybe a week before the deadline if I can't cope with going to the Post Office and just want to put it in the nearest post box?)

2)I am still waiting for GP evidence that I don't think I will get in time. If I put a note on the ESA form that further evidence from my GP is still to come, will Maximus definitely wait for it before they start the assessment? (last time they did a paper based assessment within a week of receiving the ESA form. However,I did not put a note on to say more evidence was coming last time)

3) On the ESA form where you are choosing between never and variable, would I be silly to put variable if I cannot do the activity say 98% or 99% of the time? Does never mean never ever 100% never?

4) Am I right in assuming that as I am in the Support Group whilst my new claim is being made that I will not be asked to attend the Job Centre whilst my ESA is being assessed. (It is different from when you very first claim ESA?)

Thanks, hope my numbering each question does not come across as demanding.
