When do you actually reach State Retirement Age

Contact the DWP office dealing with your claim, it should be possible to get the reassessment cancelled, given the delays in the assessment process there is no hope of a Decision being made before you get your pension.

If you cannot get the ESA50 withdrawn, I would, first of all, escalate the issue to a DWP manager, this normally requires a callback, if you still have no luck then contact your MP, finally return the ESA50 with minimal information at the last possible moment, most claimants are waiting 8 or 9 months for a face to face.

Hello Gordon, thanks for reply. Esa50 sent 24th, retirement date first week in November. So I make that roughly 3and half months from them sending form out to my retirement.

Yes I will do everything u suggest, thanks.

Another option I thought was to just send copy of my previous form and say nothing has changed since last time.

Anyway will see if my support worker will ring them on my behalf tomorrow. Keep you posted, and thanks again. :)

Yes, sending your previous ESA50 is an option.

Hello, just to update. Support worker suggested just sending form back filled out the same as it was last time. I just could not see myself gettin in same state as last time, trying to write down everything again, struggling to explain it all, trying to chase doc down for new letters etc etc etc, and especially as it so near to my retirement. There’s just over a month to go now. We’ve decided to just see what happens. She’s said she will step in should I hear from them before I retire. She’ll try get any appt from them cancelled. So that’s it, am taking her advise n sitting back n refusing to get worked up about it. Sod ‘em! Ha!

I do have another question to ask if anyone could help please. Recently I received my state pension entitlement letter, informing me of my weekly amount. After my calculations I’ve realised I will be £27+ worse off. It’s my understanding that once I reach retirement age I will no longer be entitled to EDP and SDP and will therefore have to claim pension credit. I’ve looked on gov website and it says it’s awarded only to those whose pension will be £163 or less. Mine will be very slightly over that so I won’t qualify. So does anyone have any idea if there’s any premiums for someone of pension age who gets PIP enhanced for both care and mobility? Phew hope that makes sense. Probs a bit long winded eh?:)

Thank you so much for ur reply Gordon. So it’s similar to qualifying thru IR ESA, once retired the route is thru pension credit? That’s very handy to know. Thanks agen I will have a look at the bens calculator.

Regards PP:)
