Helen

Can you show that you meet one or more of the SG Descriptors, for example you mention problems with walking which would imply the ESA Moving Around activity but this also considers your ability to self-propel a manual wheelchair.

yes thats the one i was going to try for , and no i cant propel a wheelchair as i have prolasped discs in my neck that radiates down my right arm, causing weakness in my arm and hand, that was one of the reasons the physio gave me a rolator and not a crutch

Providing you can show and it is accepted that you cannot use a wheelchair and that your walking is limited to 50m or less or is limited to this by significant discomfort or breathlessness, then you should be placed in the SG.

You will be reassessed, new ESA50 which you will need to complete in detail as if it is a new claim, there will almost certainly be a face to face assessment, all leading to a new Decision on your claim.

There are still considerable delays in the ESA assessment process so it could be sometime before your claim is looked at which is why you must notify the DWP in writing so that there is a record of when you notified the DWP, as you are looking for them to backdate any increased award to that date.
