Paper appeals are usually less effective than attending in person. However, it is better than not appealing at all!

If you are hoping to score a lot of points on the 'Social interaction' or 'Going out' descriptors, it might actually weaken your case if you do go.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi cazzyclay. I am at MR at the moment. I too submitted paperwork that can be used in tribunal when the time comes. Saves doing it all again. As I am sure they will just not read it all or listen to me and just rubber stamp the original decision.
When I went to tribunal before they were very supportive. I broke down as soon as I got in there but they were very patient and understanding. They listened to everything I had to say, when I could get the words out. I went from 6 points to 12 points.
Just a shame that I have to do it all again but I will as I know it will be worth it.
Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

thank you it helps to know others are going through the same - mine took me a month of blood sweat and tears and all over a period i had been looking forward to spending time with family i hadnt see in 6 months, but i had to work on this instead to beat the deadline.
My letter was 13 pages long plus additional supporting evidence so to ignore all that is beyond belief.
I had a call back from PIP to ask what my issue was - still not a DM, but he has logged my complaint and says will get a DM to call back to verify if my evidence was missed or just didnt change my outcome. But I know it is the former as it was not even quoted or sighted once in reasoning, it was pretty much a carbon copy of original letter when it was declined.

I did an appeal years ago for ESA and it was so emotionally distressing dispite it going in my favour, i dont think i could do that again. But hopefully it wont come to that though i had full confidence that my MR was so airtight it would have to win me something back and look where we are now.
I will keep you updated and you me.

hi hun,
just been reading your posts and wanted to say ime going through similar , it was first time ive ever put in for pip and had my result backlast friday ,,was awarded 4 points on mobility and 2 pointson daily , i was devastated reading this as i thought the assesment went realy well considering i was a blubbering wreck at the time ,, but i rang pip up same day and asked for a MR,,they told me same to write to them within 1 month of recieving the letter ,, i posted it off on monday recorded and have since sent more info from mental health and psychotherpist, , i basicaly wrote down where i think the decision were wrong in scoring point and what i believe i should of had , i recieved my asessment report today off them and cannot believe everything i told the assesor she has basicaly wrote the opposite, ive sufferd agrophobia for 4 yrs and dont go out no matter how much prompting and i was scored 4 points, ,i suffer ptsd and very bad anxiety//depression, and unless it is something important like doctor appoint i have to have someone with me but even then when i start to panic and reach the stage of fright flight there is no saying what ime capable of doing ive actualy walked onto a busy road and nearly got nocked over in a state of panic wanting to go home ,but after me explaining this to the assesor on the report i recieved back from both DM and the assessor apparantly they sem to think ime ok and can go out long as ime prompted ,,it just ridiculous how they treat people ,it so difficult explaining how you are from 1 day to the next when you suffer mental health plus physicaly unwell too,. the sstem is all wrong ,hope you get good news from your MR,.ime not holding my breath on mine,it will probably have to go to a appeal,.
good luck will have my fingers crossed for you ,. :)

Just to say when I showed a CAB worker my 3 page letter she shook her head and said "they won't even read that ,you should just do bullet points "

i cant help thats how much explanation it took and it was bullet pointed with headings for each question
if they cant be bothered to read it that says more about their practices and how unfair they are than it being my fault as i provided "too much info" in my defence??
as i said if they wont read it appeal panel will have to
