I applied for pip in January 2016 and have just had my decision. The amount of pip I get is higher than my DLA but according to the dwp my pip award starts from July 2016 which is when they wrote to say my DLA was to be stopped. Am I entitled to claim the excess from the date of my claim?

I'm afraid if you were receiving DLA then your PIP will not be backdated.
