PIP award length was created by dazzlelight
Hi :) I received a copy of my PA4 PIP medical report form today. In the award length section it says ‘Based on the claimants future circumstances it would be appropriate to review the claim in: (box) 3 years’ but underneath that in the ‘justification for review period choice’ box it says ‘due to ongoing input a review of 1 year seems appropriate’.

I’ve already received my PIP decision letter stating that my award was till 2020, with them contacting me again in 2019 to review. But having read my PA4 I’m now completely terrified. Will I be reviewed in 1 year? Do you think this is just a typo? My official decision letter definitely says my award is till 2020 with review in 2019, so will I be safe till then?

Thanks for your help. :)

The assessor's report is purely a recommendation, it is the Decision Maker's opinion that counts. As your decision letter clearly states that you will be contacted in 2019, this is what you should expect.

I am sorry to say that no-one is guaranteed to be 'safe' until the date on the letter. Legislation allows a PIP claim to be reassessed at any time for any (or no) reason, so I'm afraid we can't make any promises :(

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems
