DLA TO PIP was created by f c
My husband has to apply for Pip now after twenty years of being on DLA. He is 67 with heart failure, as numerous things wrong with his heart due to his first big HA twenty years ago.Quadruple bypass with two collapsed graphs, Another HA two years ago, two stents fitted. And now has to have a diffib fitted as high risk of going into cardiac arrest due to severe LV function/ He has now also been diagnosed with Rhumatoid Arthritis after months of pain and suffering. He is on high rate mobility at the minute, but we are getting so stressed in case he now gets nothing or the lower rate. We are trying to fill the form in, but finding it difficult. We are confused about being able to drive as he does when he is able or if not I do the driving. So does this mean as he can sometimes he wont be awarded the high rate. If he loses this he will not be able to go out at all as he cannot use public transport. He is in pain with his knees and hands most days, will they ask well how can he drive then? Sorry if this all sounds gobbily gooch!! just getting really stressed with it all.

Hi my husband has to apply for PIP after being on DLA for twenty years, The form has to go back next week, so we have tried to do some ourselves and have an appointment Friday with the Welfare rights lady. Found it quite difficult to do, The gp would not give any support has she said they will write to her if needs be. We did get some of his records information going back three years, even though there must be a lot more! What I would like to know is he has a couple of letters that were wrote for him the first time round, twenty years ago. They stated then that he could walk 100 yards back then. He cannot walk that now before being in pain and breathless. Could we still use these letters?

I'm afraid, if the letters are twenty years old, then they are far to old to have any relevance to his claim now.

Even though they are for the same condition? And they also say he will always have breathlessness and angina.
