Hi to all,

Please could someone give me advice on the following.........

MOVING HOME

i'm moving home on Friday 14th, and I don't get the tenancy agreement not until that day.

my question is ...... when should I notify the authorities of only a change of address.

authorities being......DWP + HOUSING BENEFIT.

I'm currently receiving ESA + PIP, would a change of address affect these benefits I already receive.

Finaly as far as the DWP is concerned, do I just ring my local job centre up and notify them that I have moved?

Or do I have to somehow phone up ESA + PIP Departments ?????

Or will just notifying the DWP be enough and they will update their records accordingly.

Sorry I couldn't ask sooner, ive only just got the news that I am moving !

advice is much needed and appreciated.

kind regards to all.

I would do it now if you are moving on Friday, it needs to be done in writing, so it allows time for your letters to be received. I'm afraid you have to notify each department, that means both ESA and PIP, although you would think that they would, the computer systems don't share data.

Now a funny two things happened while changing addresses. First my son moved partly and he has mental health issues. So he changed his car details and driving licence only, that was a minor miracle. Three days later he got a letter at his new address from DWP to say his ESA may be coming up for reassessment in Nov and then a week later one from the DWP regarding a change to his PIP mobility. He only told DWP.

So we moved house and I thought I would try the notify one thing, so rang the ESA line. Sure enough a few days later also got mail regarding PIP at my new address.

Hi Elisa thnks for your shared reply.

I have decided to write to both parties regarding a change of a new address.

this I will put simply and plainly in two separate letters, just stating a change of address only and no other changes of circumstances.

then I shall send it off recorded delivery via royal mail.

I had to phone up ESA (dwp) to get an address to send in my letter, which corresponds with my claim.

I was given a free post address to save me the stamp! but I will go down the safe root and mail it recorded as per the usual.

I have only a few days ago got the go ahead to move, and tomorrow I will sign my tenancy agreement.

so Friday is my official moving date to my new address.

today I will draft write 2 letters to the pip & esa dwp, departments. and hopefully I can send them on this Saturday. if not it will be Monday morning.

hopefully my transitions will be updated by the DWP and there will be no affects to my existing benefits.

finaly I couldn't notify the dwp in writing earlier as I wont have a new tenancy agreement signed until tomoz, and cant move into the house until alls been signed.

kijnd regards
