PIP 7 months 1 week ago #170565

In spite of following all the guidelines suggested by Benefits and Work and Citizens Advice on how to apply for PIP (I was on high rate mobility DLA - I have SPMS) -I put in a comprehensive document - with supporting evidence from GP -and other agencies, I was refused.
I went for re-consideration - again with more supporting evidence - and help this time filling in the form from my son in law who works for Capita - who knew how to get me more points from re-wording certain answers. My GP and everyone who knows me, was sure I had all the evidence this time to also qualify for the care component - but no, I was awarded the standard rate mobility. So, quite a drop in my monthly income.
I could appeal but that will mean going before a tribunal and I'm sure this will have a detrimental effect on my condition - its been bad enough up to now dealing with the original application and the re-consideration.
Looks like I'll have to settle for less.

Hi and welcome to the forum. I'm sorry that you have made your first post in such unhappy circumstances :( If you do not feel well enough to go through an appeal, all you can do is hope for better when your claim is reassessed.

In case you are not aware, your real name appears to be showing in the forum, if you want to change this then follow the instructions in the following FAQ

My full name is showing, how can I stop it?
