Mandatory reconsideration address for PIP

Well I phoned up today to ask which address I should send the mandatory reconsideration letter to. I couldn't believe thee address she gave me.

It was Freepost, dwp, pip 1

This worries me so much! I worked for Royal Mail customer service for 10 years dealing with lost mail and I can see all manner of problems arising from this address.

She assured me they would receive it, but said it could t be sent recorded or special delivery

Is this just another scam ?

Can I just add to anyone posting anything to DWP that recorded is not a secure way of posting. It is handled kist the same as normal post only difference is at the end you get a signature.

Special delivery is tracked all the way from start to finish so is secure and well worth the extra.

Can anyone advise what is the full address I can send it to? Is it the Wolverhampton handling site?

We have seen this address in other topics, but if you are concerned about it then send it to the address on the Decision Letter that you received.

Hello Gordon: There's a lot of confusion about DWP freepost addresses - what they are. Could Benefits and Work publish a list of freepost addresses for ESA, PIP, etc? DWP seem to want to discourage their use by not publishing them - for obvious reason...

Many thasnks.

We have made a Freedom of Information request for the addresses, we will post any results when we receive them.
