Now a week since PIP apologised for not sending me my assessment letter, as per my previous post they said it was due to an error and they would send another to me asap so I rang them again today to be told no letter on system asked to hold on then told that last week a request was made on their system to send me a letter but it was not sent and request was closed !!!!!

Lady said she would request letter be sent to me but I have heard that one before and still waiting now 19 days since assessment made and the only people who know are my local council tax support department.

My assessment means I no longer get higher rate mobility so loose my car but spoke to Motability today and they have not heard either and they said they get weekly notification.

Is it just me or anyone else having problems like this

Jan

I think you have been patient enough and ought to think about involving your MP and possibly making a complaint to the DWP.

Contacting your MP

Complaining to the DWP

Hi Gordon,

I have had a busy weekend so not had time to compose letter to DWP and MP to complain yet but will definitely be doing it tonight because post arrived today and still no letter !!!!!

I again telephoned them repeated the saga to be told they cannot simply re-send letter as no letter on their system and it has already been sent to a case adviser who will be dealing with it, I am exhausted and furious any advise you can give on wording for either letter would be much appreciated.

Many thanks for all your help.

Well despite my numerous telephone calls to DWP and twice being promised they would send me letter urgently still nothing.

As my Council Tax Support Office have advised me they were informed by DWP of change on 10 November it will be 4 weeks on Wednesday and I am wondering how long it will take them to notify me I have lost my Motability car which I no longer qualify for.

After emailing and leaving telephone message for my MP I receive a telephone call from a lady who I presume was his secretary, she had read my email and said she would contact DWP and see what she could do to help.

DLA payments for my car stop in 2 days time also time will have expired for me to request MR, last spoke to DWP 2 days ago when they again said a letter had been sent but I have heard that one twice before !!!

Replied by JANEVANS02 on topic LETTER ARRIVED TODAY IS IT TOO LATE TO REQUEST MR
At last after numerous telephone calls to DWP and 3 promises to send letter urgently it arrived today dated 6 December 2016 but is it too late to request MR as it states

I have been awarded standard rate daily living from 14 December 2016 to 19 October 2019

I have been awarded standard rate for mobility needs from 14 December 2016 to 19 October 2019

So presumably DLA payments to Motability for my car will cease on 14 December 2016.

Not sure if I should risk asking for MR as I scored 9 points for daily living, 10 points for moving around and 0 points for planning and following a journey which I disagree with because I told the assessor I have to take my husband out 5 days a week so he can work his guide dog and I sit or lie down in car whilst he does this. I told her we use a satnav for journeys which are unfamiliar to us, I also told her I do not like to travel alone because two years ago shortly after a knee operation whilst out on my own I had a flat tyre and instead of the recovery vehicle taking me home to enable a home visit for repair they took me to a garage and firstly they forgot to book me in and then they were so busy I was there for hours in terrible pain I now suffer regular knee locking episodes and do not feel confident going out by myself.

The assessors exact words were :-

You said you have difficulty moving around, I agree you have difficulties.

You said you have difficulty planning and following journeys. At the assessment you said you go out 5 days a week and drive. You said if you are going somewhere new you take and use a sat-nav. You did not require prompting during the assessment I have therefore decided you could plan and follow the route of a journey unaided I cannot consider any help you need not covered by the activities for daily living and mobility, including food shopping and stairs.

If we lived in a perfect world where satnav always took you to exactly the right place [doesn't happen for me] you never get diverted which really throws me my sense of direction is zero and I worried about getting lost and my knee did not let me down and I could stop myself from getting stressed out I would agree with her but life just isn't like that for me !!

So the big question is do they take me fears of going out alone into account so would it be worth requesting an MR if it is not too late.

If you are reading this Gordon any advice would be much appreciate.
