PIP query was created by JeanCannon
Hi
At the moment I am on DLA and like many others waiting for ( and dreading ) the changeover to PIP.
I have had Multiple Sclerosis and CFS for about 12 years and am very lucky in the fact that physically I look well and can put one foot in front of the other, but cannot do anything ( even sitting ) without extreme pain.
I understand that pain may not be taken into account with PIP.
I have cognitive issues, spacial awareness problems and memory and concentration problems which have been some of my main symptoms from the start, so for the last 10 years have never left the house without my husband being with me.
I don't know how I will manage if I am not entitled to PIP when the time comes.
Thanks

Although you are not required to complete the PIP activities without pain any pain that limits your ability to complete an activity most certainly should be taken into account,

Have a look at our PIP Claim guide and in particular the sections that deal with "reliably" and "on the majority of days"

Thank you for your fast reply.
Do you think that the problems with spacial awareness etc. would be taken into account?
Thank you

All that you can do is argue that you meet the criteria to score points. Explain the effects that this problem has on your ability to complete relevant PIP activities.
