Hello,
First of all may I just thank you all for helping us with all your time and invaluable information. Your assistance is really appreciated.
I have a query on my DLA transfer please.
I have been in receipt of indefinite mid range care and high mobility, awarded without F2F since 2013.
Have recently completed PIP with 16 medical conditions and all the medical evidence to substantiate my claim. However received letter from Capita today advising me that want to see me at a face to face at home.
Feeling very upset and anxious. Is this normal when you have supplied them with all the previous information and more since 2013. I followed your instructions to the letter.
This is so stressful.

I'm afraid that almost all "transferees" will have to have a face to face assessment, you can try and arrange a home assessment if it would be easier for you, but you will need the support of your GP who needs to write to Capita explaining why you cannot attend at their offices.

Hello Gordon,
They have already advised that they are to visit me at home thank you. Its just that I cannot understand why they need a F2F ? I have told them how my conditions affect me and proof that I do have these conditions from my specialists.

The problem is that it is not your conditions that are being assessed but the effect that they have on your ability to complete each of the PIP activities, two claimants with the same conditions might be limited in very different ways.

Hi Lizzie
Home assesments don't have to be scary. Bear in mind that you are used to managing at home, most people with long term conditions have coping mechanisms that they use on a daily basis. The assessor needs to observe how your conditions affect the 10 care component activities and the 2 mobility activities. Their job is to fit you into the right descriptor box ( as near to being able to complete the activity as possible ). Just be your lovely self, warts and all, don't make any special effort, you do not need ti impress the HP

Dear David,
I would like to thank you very much for your very kind words on this subject.
All the mods have been excellent and given solid advice when asked.
The problem is that I have 13 conditions, including Cardiac Arrest ( seven stents fitted) Fibromyalgia, Chronic Oesteoarthritis, Osteophorosis to name a few. All serious , all well documented. The stress that we are all under filling in these forms is huge and adds to the already ongoing symptoms. I understand how everyone on this site feels waiting for the outcome of someones decision and its disgusting that already sick people have to face this. Its good to know that we are not alone but to have to justify your illness to someone is very unfeeling.
Good luck to everyone out there who are facing this, I wish you only the very best.
Thanks again David.
