Last December being moved from indefinite DLA to PIP ,filled initial PIP form in .
2 months later received a how your illness or disability affects you form to fill in.
On looking through it no way would I obtain sufficient points . Manage my illness with only GP support and medication .
DLA has continued despite me not sending the form back .
Letter then came from Atos came saying DWP had asked them to contact named professionals .
Today a letter came to say an appointment had been made for me to attend a face to face .
But I havn't sent anything to DWP for this to get so far ?

I'm not going to a ftf when Atos have no details of my condition and how it affects my daily life and know they won't give me qualifying points because we know they're trying to stop benefit for people like me , paranoid schizophrenic.

What to do ? Or not do ?
Can we just ignore

It sounds like the DWP have accepted your failure to return the form as being down to your conditions and have continued with the process despite that. To be honest you have been very luck that you claim has not already been closed as this is the DWP's usual response to the form not being returned.

As to the assessment, if you don't attend then your file will be returned to the DWP and I think that this time they will have no hesitation in closing your PIP claim which will automatically result in your DLA claim being closed as well.

So you can't ignore this invitation.

Your don't say when the appointment is for, but I would try and complete the PIP2 by that date so that you can take a copy with you to the assessment, failing that if there is not time, you can rearrange the appointment for a later date, to give you more time, but you can only do this once, so you will have to attend whenever and wherever the new appointment is.

So what do YOU want to do?

If you want to retain your benefit then you will need to work very hard to get your claim back on track.

If your not bothered then don't attend the assessment and the DWP will close your claim.

On the original PIP form , is number 1 ? I asked for a paper assessment .
I never filled the how your illness affects your dail life form in because I saw that I wouldn't gain points required and particularly because I had an unseen one ,paranoid schizophrenia controlled by medication . For instance I can cook etc. And go out without help .
So why have Atos asked me for a face to face when I havn't submitted the second form ?
I either will phone the DWP. Or not attend the Atos appointment . I'm not prepared to go in front of an assessor who doesn't know the first thing about me or my illness .

We haven't seen this situation before so I can't explain why your DLA claim has not already been terminated, my best guess is that they have assumed that you conditions have prevented you from completing and returning the form.

I just want to make sure that you fully understand, if you do as you say then your DLA claim will be closed.
