PIP Assessments with ATOS - a 27 minute disaster!

Hi I am new here and apologise if I am doing this wrong at all.
I had my Assessment this week and have been left dumbfounded by how it went.
It lasted 27 minutes, the man railroaded me into all my answers and gave me absolutely no chance to explain anything. He showed that he had read very little of my form or the mountain of doctor/hospital related back up letters I had. At the end my partner tried to tell him about the problems I am having with my Autonomic Nervous System (which the doctor had stated in her letter) and he told us that... that is what panic attacks do! I have ME, depression and a whole host of other bits. I have had my ME for 25 years now and with age I am slowly getting worse. I have had DLA for 8 years - lower care and higher mobility. I suspect from the way he railroaded the interview I won;t be getting any PIP at all.
Anybody out there that has been in the same boat and can offer me any advice please?
This has devastated me. I got home and cried and stayed in bed for 2 days. I haven't got a clue what to do......

Hi and Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explains where everything is

Welcome to Benefits and Work

In case you are not aware, your real name appears to be showing in the forum, if you want to change this then follow the instructions in the following FAQ

My full name is showing, how can I stop it?

I'm sorry that the assessment went badly - however, please don't give up hope! We have seen terrible assessments lead to positive awards - and vice versa.

It will be helpful to get a copy of the assessor's report - DWP send these out on request. Then you will be a step ahead if you need to take this further.

PIP results are taking a few weeks at the moment.

May I suggest that you bookmark/favourite this on your web browser now so that you can find it easily in future? This will allow you to return with further questions or comments about your PIP without having to start a new topic each time. We ask members to keep everything relating to the same claim in one topic as it helps us enormously - and I hope you will find it useful too :)

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems
