Phone call from DM about PIP Review

Hello,
I helped my mum applied for PIP few years back and this year in February she got her AR1 review form. We filled it in with most of the answers as 'No Change' but only one question as worst for the mobility but she is already getting Enhanced Mobility anyway.
Anyway we filled it in using your guides and sent it back with evidence on 8th March.
Today we got a call from the DWP's DM at 6pm asking my mum if she had received a letter from DWP. She haven't.
He then went on telling her that they are extending her award and also that she may have to attend a medical if she is called for one. She agreed with him and that was the end of the call.
I was a bit confused about the call as you either attend a medical or are given an extension. Do you know what this call was about?

No, he didn't explain and we didn't have a chance to ask him as the call was a very quick call. Plus your mind goes completely blank when such a call is received.
I'll wait for a letter to arrive and update you once I receive it.

Just a quick update, after the confusing phone call from the DM a few days back, the brown envelope dropped. My mum has had her PIP review extended for a 6 years now (previously 4 years).
The DM wrote that he could make the decision based on the evidence, prescriptions, test results and the AR1 review form submitted and without sending it to ATOS for further clarifications. And as he could see the issues my mum is still facing, he can extend this award and give a longer one too.

As you see from my updates, my mum was send an AR1 form Feb 17 after filling in and sending back we got a decision on April 2017 of same PIP rates until 2023.
Today we received a letter from ATOS asking my mum to attend a PIP consultation and i'm not sure why this has been send when my mum has already had her decision.
Could you please advise in what we should do in such situation?
