Hi my 1st ever ESA assessment is next Wednesday and iv a few concerns , my CAB advisor told me to pretend it's a very bad day, on very bad days I get very dizzy when I walk at normal speed so do I act as if that is the case ? I m also on medication I take 4 times daily which makes me sleepy and quiet often I will fall asleep during the day in fact it is the norm , I believe there is a question on their list about losing control of functions or awareness how should I answer this on the day.

I don't think that the CAB's advice is very good, unless you are a very good actor you will almost certainly trip yourself up during the assessment! But it is your assessment as you should do what you feel is correct for you.

I would certainly encourage you to talk about your worst days, but also how you are for the majority of time and how you are at your best and for how long you are affected by each.

I'm afraid falling asleep will not score points for the Staying Conscious While Awake activity.

Have a look at the ESA Claim guides, there is a section at the back that covers the assessment and the questions you are likely to be asked.

Just back from my ESA assessment, the lady was very pleasant and quick with the key board , she carried out no physical examination of me and the whole thing was over in 25 mins , is that a good or bad thing ? I now await the decision, any idea how long these take generally speaking ,I'm in Belfast

I wouldn't read anything in to the length of the assessment, we've seen good and bad results, there is no way read them.

ESA Decisions are taking about 2-4 weeks.

I was in the assesment room (it's my first claim) for about 20 mins. I was not asked about hardly anything nor had any physical checks. I heard yesterday I have been put in the support group. I rung to ask the result (exactly 3 weeks since assessment) but I haven't received the letter yet.
