I am facing a PIP Tribunal.
I live alone and have very little support, how do I get across and prove the fact 'that it is help I need'?

All you can do is make sure that you have explained your problems with completing the PIP activities in as much detail as possible.

So follow the formula in the Claim guide;

1. What is the health condition and what are the symptoms that cause you problems with the activity?

2. Describe the problems you have, giving details and examples if you can.

3. If you use any aids or appliances, list them and explain why you use them.

4. If you need physical help, supervision or prompting, whether you actually get it or not, explain what you need and why you need it, including if you need help when using aids or appliances. If you can’t manage even with help from another person and have to have everything done for you, say so.

5. Say when during the day or night you have problems. For example, is it all the time, mostly in the morning or just in the evening?

6. If your condition varies, from day to day or week to week, try to explain how much it varies and what problems you have when you are at your best, worst and average.

Remember to make use of "reliably" wherever applicable and if you can try and break the activities down into smaller units to show the difficulties that you have in more detail, for example; preparing food and cooking it.

Thank you.
I received the DWP Pack 10 days ago and have not been able to read it yet. Not sure what I need to do, I can draft a submission. Do I need legal advice too?

You will only receive an award by showing that you meet the criteria for one.

So the first thing to do is go back through your PIP2, the assessment report and our PIP Claim guide to make sure that you have shown that you meet the PIP Descriptors and have addressed all of the issues raised by the DWP.

You don't need legal advice, but if you can get help from a trained Welfare advisor then it may help, do an internet search for "welfare advice" with your postcode, town or county.
