PIP points was created by GFhiprep
I had my re-assessment for PIP last September. My PIP claim was refused. On my original (first) assessment I had 9 points altogether. This time I had none (miraculous recovery? Errrr, no I don't think so). I tried mandatory reconsideration. It took weeks to come through - actually rang them in November to ask what was happening. The lady I spoke to actually apologised to me and said I should have received the letter, but it hadn't been posted out! It arrived a few days later and my claim was still denied and I still had no points whatsoever. Also - it was too late to go to appeal because I had to appeal within a month of the date of the letter - which had been in October! Poor show all round. I am now just about to submit a new claim for PIP follow a new diagnoses of acetabular dysplasia in my left hip (a new addition to my list of ailments). Grrr, poor show DWP!

It's not the date of the original Decision but rather the date of the MR letter.

Even if this is more than a month ago you can still make a Late Appeal but you will need to provide Good Cause being late, the DWP failing to notify you of the MR result should be accepted without problem.

The PIP Appeal guide has links to the SSCS1 form that you will need to complete and the Submissions guide has a complete example that you can use to help you fill it in, you do not need to provide detailed reasons at this stage for your request.

Once your appeal is accepted the DWP will prepare their submission to the hearing and send you a copy, whilst you should wait until you receive this to finish and submit your own, you should start to prepare your own case, an increased award will only be made by your showing that you score the extra points for one, so I would start by going back through your PIP2, the assessment report and the PIP Claim guide to see how you might show this is the case.

If you have further questions then please reply to this post and we will do our best to help.
