ESA Support Group was created by Gillj
Hi,
I have been a member on here a few years. This is the first time I have asked a question, so please be gentle with me.

I went to and won an appeal to be put into the Support Grou back in June of 2013. I received a letter from them 11th April 2017 saying they had looked at my claim following a recent change. There has been no recent change. They state its because my husband works more than 24 hours a week. He is working just as he was back in 2013 and he still gets exactly the same money as then. It also says that my circumstances mean that I will qualify for a Christmas bonus of £10 payable the 1st week in December. It says they will credit my national insurance contributions while I am claiming ESA.
And then it mentions that if I think the decision is wrong to contact them.

As my illness will never get better, i thought that once I was in the Support Group that I would not have to go through all the rigmarole that I went through back in 2013.

And to top it off I have been sent another ESA50 form.

I am confused, so if anyone could give me some advice on what I should do next I would truly appreciate it.

Thank you in advance.
Gill

Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explain where everything is

Welcome to Benefits and Work

In case you are not aware, your real name appears to be showing in the forum, if you want to change this then follow the instructions in the following FAQ

My full name is showing, how can I stop it?

You say your husband's working has not changed, does this mean that he has always worked more than 24 hours a week?

What ESA are you receiving, Income Related, Contribution Based or a combination of the two?

My concern is that your are receiving ESA(IR) and he has always worked more than 24 hours in which case you were never entitled to any ESA payments. If this is the case and you have been receiving payments of ESA(IR) then I am going to recommend that you get face to face advice as there will be a potential issue of an over payment that we cannot deal with on the forum.

If you can provide more information we'll do our best to help.

As to the new ESA50 you must complete and return it to keep your claim alive. Treat it as a new claim and supply any relevant evidence that you have even if you have sent it before. Make sure you use the current ESA Claim guides.
