ESA: assessment 07/04/17
Result received today 02/05/17 i have been put into the WRAG even tho i can't walk no more than 20 meters aided or unaided & that was put on my application form & i told the health professional this at the assessment.
The health professional was the same person who gave me industrial injuries disablement benefit for life!!!
PIP: assessment 10/04/17 Result received 28/04/17
I have been put into daily living (STANDARD)
I have been put into mobility part (ENHANCED) because i can walk no more than the 20 meters aided or unaided.
I know i have to ask for ‘mandatory reconsideration within one month of the date of a decision.
I know ESA & PIP are different types of benefits but surly how can ESA put me in the WRAG if i can not walk more than 20 meters, as anyone else had this result.
I forgot to mention i phoned DWP & they said also send evidence to us, well i sent all evidence with my application form.

ESA is not a walking test, it is a Mobility test! In addition to your walking it considers your ability to self-propel a manual wheelchair over the same distances, you do not need to be using a wheelchair or even to own one for it to be considered. SO even if you can show your walking is restricted, unless you can also show that you cannot self-propel the wheelchair you will still not score points.

I understand that its not a walking test, on the ESA form & ESA assessment i explained i am in constant pain with my Mobility i.e. walking using upper & lower body, The DWP Know this thats why the have given me industrial injuries disablement benefit for life.
Sorry to be a pain.

They only do this when no award has been made.

Did you explicitly stated on your ESA50 or at the assessment that you cannot self-propel a manual wheelchair?

Did you state that the pain limits your ability to mobilise, you are not required to perform the ESA activities pain free, but any "significant discomfort" that restricts your ability to complete an activity should be taken into account.

Unless you provided details of your IIDB assessment I would not expect those assessing you to have any knowledge of the Decision.
