I returned ar1 form back in Jaunary. Heard nothing. Chased DWP in March but told had to have a face to face and to liaise with ATOS. Went to a hospital appt and got a call to say there was a person from atos who had arrived at my home. I had not received a letter or anything from atos. Now pip has been stopped despite advising dwp what had occurred. Sent details in but I don't know what to do. I received the letter today to say pip stopped. I keep getting misinformation from DWP as to what I should do. Any help appreciated.

You will have to request a Mandatory Reconsideration of the Decision. This needs to be in writing to the DWP office that was dealing with your claim.

In the interim you need to make a Subject Access Request to ATOS for the following;

1. A copy of the missing invitation letter.
2. A copy of your computer record showing the address that they have on file for you.
3. Proof that the letter was posted by ATOS and when.

You can write a letter to ATOS headed "Subject Access Request", you can find the address from the following.

www.atoshealthcare.com

You should also contact your local Royal Mail office to see if there have been problems with mail deliveries in your area.

Do you have examples of mail going missing before?

Is your address one that could easily be confused with someone else's?

Can you check with your neighbours whether they have had the letter?

Alternatively, you can make a new claim for PIP immediately, there is no waiting time.

Thank you Gordon for your assistance in this matter. I did send a letter today again but didn't realise I had to ask for a mandatory reconsideration. I merely expounded what had happened, the letter
I had received today saying my pip was being cancelled and for them to lookeep into it.
Merry dance comes to mind doing!

If your PIP claim has been closed then a Decision has been made and the only way to overturn it is via an MR. They may accept your letter as an MR request but I would still make a formal request.
