Income protection was created by LondonLady12
Does anyone know if I'm claiming PIP and I get the higher rate of mobility and the medium rate of care component and I receive Income Protection insurance payments through a policy taken out via my previous employer who I am still technically still an employee with but haven't been able to return to work for the past 2 years due to 2 failed spinal surgeries and chronic pain syndrome and I get paid by income protection at a rate of 75% of my salary still is this ok? I know PIP is non means tested so just wanted to be sure I'm ok to still get payments? Thanks

Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explain where everything is

Welcome to Benefits and Work

In case you are not aware, your real name appears to be showing in the forum, if you want to change this then follow the instructions in the following FAQ

My full name is showing, how can I stop it?

You've answered your own question, PIP is not means tested so what your income is and where it comes from is not relevant to the benefit.

This is not the case for other benefits like ESA and Housing Benefit.

Thank you Gordon I don't currently get ESA or Housing Benefit so I just wanted to double check so you have put my mind at rest. The Income Protection Insurancd that I have through my work are doing a reassessment of my claim & they have said they need to check they are not paying me to much as I'm getting PIP but as the policy is between them and my employer they won't give me the policy details which seems ridiculous. My employer is now trying to get rid of me due to being unfit to work and a deterioration in my condition, I've since had a pulmonary embolism and have been put on Riveroxaban since claiming PIP and have had adaptions done in my flat such as a wet room disabled shower with grab rails and seat and my bath removed and grab rails by my toilet as I use a highered toilet seat & a perching stool & chair that reclines and helps me stand up & bed straps with a bar to help me pull myself out of bed, I live on my own & struggle a lot with day to day living & im reliant on friends & neighbours for help as I don't know if I can get home help? I didn't have these things when I applied for PIP do I need to inform them of these things? Thanks for your help and advice, I really appreciate it

If the changes that you mention would result in your scoring additional points, sufficient to result in the Enhanced rate of Daily Living then you should certainly consider notifying the DWP, however, this will result in a full reassessment of your claim, new claim form and almost certainly a F2F. If they will not result in a higher award then the DWP are unlikely to be bothered if you do not contact them.

I'm afraid the Mods are not involved in this process.
